I have earned the distinction of being ranked among the top 2% of research scientists worldwide as measured by the impact of research publications.
The study also assesses the career-long citation impact within subfields such as Communication. It is an honour to be among the top 2% in the subfield of Communication and Media Studies.
The study by scientists from Stanford University ranks the 100,000 most cited scholars across all fields up until the end of 2019.
The rankings are organised in two ways; excluding self-citations and including self-citations. I am at 96,391 in the rankings that exclude self-citations, and at 112,642 including self-citations.
The researchers, led by Stanford professor John P.A. Ioannidis, also ranked scholars by their citation impact during the single year of 2019.
For the single year of 2019, I am at 22,871 in the rankings.
The study is published in the journal Public Library of Science Biology.
